An evening on a beach

The breeze today;
Impetuous and whimsical,
Like a boisterous child,
goes prancing and running,
Swinging and swaying,
With short bursts of energy,
All over the sea beach.
 
It pulls and tugs,
At clothes and shrugs,
Inviting peals of laughter,
Aiming for a girl’s hat thereafter.
 
Then all of a sudden
There is a brief stop;
As if the breeze is in a fix,
Undecided
Whether to rush or be gentle
As it chooses its next target.

A moment later
it comes in a swoop,
to ruffle my hair
In a playful dare!

    1. 🙂 Is that true? Am so happy that you enjoyed reading it so much. Had written it a few years back when we were on a holiday to a beach on the eastern coast of India. As we sat on the beach in the evening, the breeze rose all of a sudden. That was when i composed this. Thanks so much. 🙂

  10. Stunning. You bring the wind to life and it truly is as boisterous as you say it is. I love how you use that peculiar rhyme to create that rise and then the sudden movement of it in the end just sums it up beautifully. Quite a poet you are!
