Stubborn rain! Comes in torrents, Whenever I am On my way to work! Laden, heavy with water, The raindrops pelt hard, Threatening to tear the umbrella cover, Before sliding down In frustrated demeanour. Aided by the boisterous breeze, Sometimes the rain attempts to swing in; Spraying my face, My clothes, As if they have something to convey! There are puddles by the roadside! Perhaps the rain, Wants me to stop by them and sail those paper-boats again.

Great story Goutam. I felt the rain as though as I was in it, carried along with your beautiful imagery . Love your last line..

Hi Suzette….Thank you so much. So glad to know that you liked it. Many times these days, I feel the urge myself..to stop and enjoy the rain, like we used to do during our childhood. π

I totally understand what you mean Goutam. Those were fun moments, playing outside in the rain. π§π¦

π Yeah…sometimes the timing of the rain makes one wonder whether they have a clock up in the sky. Just when its time to head out for work, then heavens open.

funnily enough another Indian friend was complaining about the rain only last week. I must ask him whereabouts he is.

It’s monsoon season in India right now and the rain, thanks to the destruction that we humans have caused to the environment, is behaving like a freak. It floods some places and stays away totally from others. So there are different moods of people at present, depending on which part of India one is based.

The feeling has been immortalised by the great Sudarshan Fakir….”Ye daulat bhi le lo, ye shohrat bhi le lo/ Magar mujhko lautaa do wo bachpan ka saawan/ Wo kaagaz ki kashti, wo baarish kaa paani “. ππ
