A small colony; In a relatively smaller town of India. A child, reprimanded by his parents: “Look at your brother”, his father says. “Brilliant guy, 6 pointer in school final exams. He, unlike you, has a bright future. Why can’t you learn something from him”? A shoe; he is expected to fill Appears too big! That was the beginning. Every time hence, Whenever life placed a shoe before him, Inviting him to step in, He had found it to be too large for his feet. A misfit therefore he remained. Tramping through life’s woods and deserts, At his merry pace, Enduring all that the journey offered, Content to be blessed by nature’s grace. He had his own boots though; Worn with use but nevertheless, Fitting him to a tee. And the thought of anyone else stepping into them Never bothered him! Unique is every human. Limited by one’s ability, bounded by his vision. Barefoot or booted, The journey, individually, must be completed. PS : Wishing every one A Very Happy New Year.
Happy New Year Goutam. Thanks for the introduction to.the word “fitment”

Hello Suzette. The pleasure is mine. “Fitment” is a word often used by HR professionals when they want to check if a person’s skills are matching with that of a job…which effectively means, they have a shoe and try to find a person who can fit into them. 🙂

You are very right Sadje…We are all made of a mould that was perhaps destroyed after one production. Thank you once again for stimulating my thoughts with a stunning picture prompt. 🙂

Wise words. I wonder if he just decided to leave them behind on that stump?

Possibly yes..When you cant be bothered about what happens to your possession, you just put them down and turn your back. 🙂

Beautifully written. Knowingly or otherwise, parents and society put pressure on a child by setting benchmarks and parameters of performance.
